Congresswoman Sherrill kept $31,500 from Elon Musk’s SpaceX, then gave it up after criticism.
Congresswoman Sherrill took over $31,500 in campaign contributions from Elon Musk’s SpaceX political action committee. For years, Sherrill said she wouldn’t return it because she had already spent it, then tried to raise money for her campaign by posing as a Musk opponent. She finally agreed to donate Musk’s money to charity not because she believed it, but because she feared that it would damage her campaign.

Congresswoman Sherrill broke the law twice by failing to disclose stock sales.

Congresswoman Sherrill and her husband traded stock frequently as the pandemic hit and Congress received closed-door briefings. Her wealth dramaticallyincreased quickly while in Congress.

Sherrill’s wealth has increased by millions since she entered Congress in 2019, growing by at least 200% and possibly more than 500%.

Sherrill and her husband made 187 stock transactions between January 1, 2020 and April 20, 2020, as the worldwide pandemic hit and Members of Congress on Sherrill’s committees – the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and House Armed Services Intelligence Subcommittee – were repeatedly briefed on the threats involved.

Sherrill’s super PAC took $25,000 on November 18, 2024 – the day Sherill announced she would seek the Democratic nomination for governor – from a rabidly anti-union group that mostly supports Republicans, including Donald Trump. The NJ Merit PAC is the political funding arm of the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC), which supports weakening prevailing wage laws, banning project labor agreements, and blocking attempts to organize and collectively bargain.

Congresswoman Sherrill voted to allow Trump to profit at taxpayer expense.
Nearly every Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives voted to prohibit the Defense Department from spending money at Trump-owned properties, but Congresswoman Sherrill was one of just eight House Democrats to vote with Trump, enabling his long history of grifting and self-enrichment. Sherrill likes to talk tough on Trump now that she is running for Governor, but when she had the power to stand up to Trump, she caved.
